As co-founder, Crust & Core is the product of my obsession with getting construction right. My journey as a young entrepreneur has been driven by an unrelenting pursuit of design excellence — every project we take on is an argument for what coastal building can be when nothing is compromised. Nestled in Kenya's embrace, Crust & Core is more than construction. It is a narrative woven into the fabric of this nation — a mission to bring real quality to where it has always been deserved.

I find my inspiration tracing back to my great-grandfather — an architectural pioneer — and my grandfather, a devoted farmer. Their influence gave me a desire to craft lasting edifices and a profound connection with the land. For me, this was never just a business proposition. It is about honouring that lineage, channelling early teachings, and sculpting spaces that evoke belonging while offering unparalleled luxury. Every project we undertake is imbued with a unique character — a harmonious blend of luxury and sustainability, modernity and history.
We grew out of a single conviction: that a building well-made should carry its weight quietly. In 2022, we broke ground on Shamba Creek — a 3-acre coastal estate that became the proof of concept.
The experience taught us that the gap between a good building and a great one is not the design — it is the delivery. The quality of the concrete. The precision of the MEP coordination. The honesty of the handover documentation.
From that conviction, we expanded across every stage of a building's life. Today we carry nine construction disciplines under one practice — from feasibility to facility management — under one roof, one contract, one quality standard.

We carry the whole scope.
Pre-construction through post-construction — under one contract, one site manager, one quality standard. We do not pass problems between parties. We own them.
We front-load intelligence.
A decision at the planning stage costs less than a change order on site. We invest heavily in feasibility, surveys and design coordination so the build phase carries fewer surprises.
We build for the climate we live in.
The Kenyan coast is humid, salt-laden, and demanding. We specify materials, detailing and drainage for this environment — not for a temperate building manual.
We are accountable long after handover.
Our post-construction relationships have led to most of our repeat commissions. We do not walk away when the keys change hands — the relationship continues through defects liability, maintenance and FM.
Every dream built ignites another.
With each foundation we lay, we are not just constructing homes — we are building pathways to education. A significant portion of our profits partners with the Aloo Foundationto fund underprivileged children's education across Kenya.
We also stand in partnership with Shamba Conservation — a commitment to environmental renewal embedded into every project we undertake on the coast.

Our studio and site operations are anchored at Shamba Creek Residence, Mtwapa, Mombasa. We operate across the Kenyan coast and take commissions inland by arrangement.
